    The Syntax® SB connector's mechanical features ensure high quality, extreme durability and safe connections. The SB series is available in 16 different arrangement layouts for the inserts, with contacts ranging from size 0 to 16S, allowing transmission of power and signals. SB circular multipin connectors are compliant with SAE AS50151 (formerly MIL-C-5015) & VG 95234 military standards. A typical application for the SB Series is the connection between HMI ballasts and lamps: the SB family includes connectors compatible with all major HMI lamp manufacturer specifications, covering 400W-20KW HMI ranges.The locking ring has been increased in thickness to avoid risk of damage. Bayonet lock with coupling roller pins ensures easy mating, granting high quality connections over a high number of coupling cycles.

    IP67 Protection caps

    IP67 Protection caps

    Environmental caps are available on request and provide complete IP67 protection on unmated connectors. The use of protective caps results in extended life span of the connectors as the mating threads are protected against damage from impacts and improved safety as contacts are protected against dust and water even when the connectors are not mated.

    For positive lacing, the IP67 caps are supplied with a special high-resistance lanyard made up of seven stainless strands, coated with anti-scraping black teflon tubing. On cable connectors, the lanyard is laced to a specific housing on the connector’s backshell.

    Besides ensuring an excellent mechanical strain relief keeping the cable in the centre of the connector, metal cable glands are provided with an internal rubber cone bushing ensuring IP67 waterproof protection. The screws in stainless steel have elastic anti-vibration washers. Clamping range varies according to connector size as shown in the following table.
